Global Fresh Marketing Pty Ltd was established in 1994 with the shareholders being Mr Fred Durham and Ms Janet Durham. Prior to establishing the export business, Fred and Janet were both directors (marketing and administration) of a 400-hectare, market leading vegetable growing, packing and marketing operation in South-east Queensland in conjunction with other family members and employing 60 people.
During this time strategic relationships were developed with icon status companies such as KFC, McDonalds, Mrs Crocket’s Kitchen and Woolworth’s Supermarkets, relationships that still endure today and take commitment, trust, and fair business trading to survive the challenges of a constantly changing fresh produce industry.
After Fred and Janet departed the family farming operation they moved to Melbourne City and Global Fresh Marketing was established. The focus quickly turned from domestic marketing of vegetables, to export marketing of fresh fruits as the main activity.
